Why you should travel solo.

Solo travel has been the most amazing and transformative experience I have ever done. It is something I would recommend to anyone, even if you just do it once. Solo travel challenged and changed me for the better. Heres 5 reasons why I think it’s so good.

Pushing you out of your comfort zone.
When you are placed into uncomfortable or difficult situations, thats when you change. You learn how to deal with problems by yourself, truly thinking through and not relying on other peoples help. You also do some of the most incredible things when you push your comfort zones. You do things you will remember forever, and create stories and memories you will tell your children about.

You meet the most amazing people.
When you travel alone, you are forced to make friends with people from all over the world. You begin to respect different cultures and opinions through broadening your horizons and seeing things from other peoples perspectives. The friends you make when travelling you choose, it doesn’t happen due to circumstance but because you actually form a connection. You can afford to be picky, and spend time with those that inspire you.

Time to think
I went off on my trip post uni. I had so many thoughts and decisions to make. Where to work, where and when to do my masters etc. But also I wanted to think about who I want to be, what I want to do in my life and how I want to act. By spending time in your own company you force yourself to have those difficult thoughts and conversations, but you also have to the time to form action plans. And more importantly inspiring yourself to follow through with them.

You can be selfish.
By travelling alone, you chose exactly what you want to do. You can check off every little think from your personal bucket-list with no fear of offending anyone. It is a truly freeing way to travel.

Self Acceptance
When you spend time in your own company, you learn to appreciate all of you. You acknowledge your flaws, as well as finding your strengths. You learn you won’t like every single inch of yourself, but thats okay and normal. You develop and start to grow and change into the person you want to be. You accept yourself and when you come home, you come back with a different level of confidence.

The thought of solo travel can be scary but it is worth every ounce of fear. So when border open up in 2021, don’t be scared to explore alone.
Stay safe.
Bye for Now ✌🏻
